What is The Girls' Brigade?

In today's world there are as many pressures on girls as there are on boys – perhaps even more. Low self-esteem in girls is now a major problem and is linked to eating disorders, self-harm, alcohol abuse, teen pregnancy and a host of other issues. That's why there's a need for organisations like The Girls' Brigade. The Girls’ Brigade was formed in 1968 but its roots actually go back 110 years to the establishment of The Girls’ Guildry in Glasgow in 1900. The Girls’ Brigade offers a four sided programme – Spiritual, Physical, Education and Service – tailor made for each age range, offering awards based on skills and activities where girls can attain a sense of achievement based on individual capabilities.

Robroyston Church of Scotland is home to the 1st Robroyston Company of The Girls' Brigade.

Juniors (P4 - P7)

The 1st Robroyston Girls' Brigade has a junior section for girls in P4-P7. Juniors have fun, make friends, play games, listen to stories, learn about the world, go on outings, make things, bake, sing and dance, put on displays, enter competitions, work for badges and more! Through all this they grow in confidence, gain new skills, learn self-control and respect for themselves and others.
