Church History
Robroyston Church is an evangelical congregation within the Church of Scotland, and so we believe that the bible (Old and New Testament) is our supreme standard and sole authority on matters of faith and life - being the inspired word of God - and the Westminster Confession of Faith is our subordinate standard. We are a relatively new church, having grown from being a home church plant in 1998 to become full status in 2017.
Keeping the Faith 'Apostles Creed'
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen!

Community
The church began in Jerusalem initiated and empowered by the Spirit of God.. The first Christians were mostly Jews, yet within a relatively short period, under the impulse of the Holy Spirit, motivated by the resurrection of Jesus, that changed (Acts 1:6-8).
Breaking down cultural and racial barriers the early Christians took the good news of God Saviour Jesus across the world. The church evangelised, it grew, it embraced peoples of all races, backgrounds and intellects. The barriers of hostility between peoples (Galatians 3:28) were swept aside,
Church is the people of God. Men and woman from all walks of life who have trusted Jesus as their Saviour. People who are seeking to live their lives to the glory of God. The word ‘church’ can have many applications, i.e. Local congregation, a specific denomination or in its wider sense: the world-wide body of believers who from among all the individual denominations make up the body of Christ in the world. The church can constitute millions and yet can be as small as two or three when Jesus is in the midst (Matt 18:20).
The early church was born into a world very like our own. The Roman Empire was a multi-cultural, multi-religious, multi-racial hot house. Christianity faced hostile forces and opposition from the start. Yet 2,000 years later the church is alive and remains effective proclaiming the message of personal redemption through Jesus Christ
